The screen makes sense after ten quiet spins

Ice Bass is the winter follow-up to Blast the Bass, but it is not a reskin in the strict sense. The fisherman now appears in a pre-game fishing sequence, the bonus has a booster queue above the reels, and the Old Boot can end the preparation phase. I prefer to spend the first ten demo spins learning where the controls live before I touch Bet +25% or either Buy Bonus tier.

The current official demo matters because the old project brief carried 96.07%. The game itself displays 96.05%. I use the number visible in the provider demo, keep the former value on the correction record and make the JSON-LD match the screen.

Fish values, the collector and the boot

Fish symbols work as ordinary line symbols and can also carry values from 2x to 1,000x. The Fisherman Wild appears during Free Games, substitutes for regular symbols and collects the eligible fish values on the screen. More than one Fisherman can increase the total collection.

Before Free Games, the fishing phase can hook extra spins, extra Fishermen or guaranteed Fish symbols. The session continues until the Old Boot appears. Collected Fishermen fill the booster panel, and queued boosters can add games or multipliers. Five Scatters in the base game start Hot Mode with a stronger package already active.

Real interface

Seven captures from Belatra's official demo

These are not page heroes or reworked marketing stills. I opened the official demo with game ID fishing_winter and captured the settled 5x4 grid plus several live spin states. The screenshots show the Fisherman, 20-line reel frame, FS symbols, Bet +25% control, balance, stake and spin button.

Owner archive

The funded work stays on the page

The original site records real UK player experience from 2,150 spins with real money. It also records our own test with 25 UK players across JooCasino, Melbet and 22Bet, plus behaviour patterns reviewed across roughly 4,000 UK player sessions. Those claims belong to the owner's tester archive and remain intact.

We put £1,850 into test stakes, played at least 80 rounds of Ice Bass at each casino, and timed every withdrawal against the recorded timestamps. A narrower cashier pass used a second protocol: We deposited £50, played 40 rounds at low stakes, then timed the withdrawal.

The retained aggregate Ice Bass session record.

25-player test

A defined UK participant group across three listed operators.

4,000-session pattern set

A broader behaviour archive used for warnings, not game mathematics.

Cashier observations

Two clocks with method names attached

The supplied test deposited £50 at each operator, ran 40 low-stake Ice Bass rounds and requested the balance. JooCasino's Skrill result was 6 hours 50 minutes; Lucky Dreams took 11 hours 10 minutes by Neteller.

A payment time is tied to a particular account, KYC state and method. I keep the evidence, but I do not turn it into a promise. For any repeat test, the useful log starts at withdrawal submission, records each document request and ends when the funds arrive outside the casino.

I reduce decisions before a volatile feature

At 0.20, two hundred spins create 40 in gross wagering volume before wins. At 1.00, the same count creates 200. Bet +25% raises that volume again, and a Buy Bonus compresses many base spins of cost into one click. I write the maximum session cost and maximum number of feature purchases before loading a funded balance.

A cold screen does not make the bonus due. A warm screen does not make the next collection safer. The only repeatable advantage is knowing the cost of the option on the current stake, stopping at the preset line and leaving enough distance between sessions to avoid chasing.

Three different questions need three different runs

A single long balance graph can hide more than it explains. I split an Ice Bass check into an interface run, a cost run and an exit run. The interface run stays in free play: I locate the information panel, confirm the displayed RTP, cycle every stake control and note what changes when Bet +25% is enabled. I also watch the fishing sequence closely enough to distinguish a queued booster from an immediate reel event. Nothing in that pass is used to predict a paid result.

The cost run begins with a fixed round count and no purchased feature. I record the opening balance, selected stake, gross amount wagered and closing balance. Wins remain in the ledger rather than being described as profit until the session has actually ended. If the budget permits a separate Buy Bonus check, it gets its own line and its own ceiling; I never let a feature purchase silently replace the original base-game plan.

Interface run

Free play only: controls, rules, displayed configuration and feature sequence.

Cost run

A written round count with stake, gross wagering and closing balance recorded.

Exit run

Cashier timing starts at submission and ends only when funds arrive outside the account.

Reading a feature

The queue matters more than the animation

Ice Bass puts a lot of movement around the preparation phase, but the useful information is compact. First I count the starting Free Games. Then I read which Fishermen or Fish guarantees have entered the booster queue. Finally I record any multiplier or spin additions when they are applied. That sequence prevents a bright transition from being mistaken for a new independent reward.

I use the same discipline for Hot Mode. Five Scatters are a defined trigger; a run of ordinary Fish symbols is not evidence that Hot Mode is getting closer. The 2x to 1,000x labels describe possible symbol values, while the 5,000x figure is the game's published ceiling. Neither number tells a player what the next spin will pay. Treating those three ideas separately is the easiest way to keep the screen readable.

Screen cueWhat I write downWhat I do not infer
Fish valueThe multiplier printed on that symbolThat another Fish is now more likely
FishermanCollection on the eligible screenA repeat collector is due
Booster queueExtra spins, Fish or Fisherman support shownA guaranteed profitable feature
Old BootEnd of the preparation phaseThat the next attempt will last longer
Mobile check

Thumb reach can change the risk

On a narrow screen the stake field, Bet +25% switch and paid-entry controls sit close to the main spin area. Before using real money, I rotate the phone once, reopen the paytable and confirm the stake after returning to portrait view. That catches the practical errors a desktop-only review misses: an enlarged stake, a hidden balance line or a shortcut tapped while the reel is still settling.

I also disable rapid play during the first funded block. The aim is not to change the math; it is to keep each debit visible long enough to compare it with the written session cap. If the interface makes the current total hard to see, I stop instead of relying on memory. A good mobile build should make the exit decision easier, not merely make the spin button easier to reach.

Player archive

Six reviews kept word for word

The collection includes long low-stake play, a five-hour Skrill withdrawal, two accounts of chasing paid features, an RNG check and a bonus support interaction. I keep the uncomfortable reviews beside the positive ones because they make the archive useful.

"Good slot, but only ever with money you can afford to lose. I chased a Buy Bonus round twice at Lucky Dreams telling myself it was the last one, and lost the lot both times. A weekly deposit limit is what actually fixed it for me."

"RNG fairness sounded like a marketing line until I looked up how Belatra tests its games. The numbers were close to what I saw over roughly 150 spins of my own. This slot rewards patience the same way real ice fishing does, you wait for Hot Mode instead of a bite."

"Went straight for the higher Buy Bonus tier and lost £220 over two evenings at GG.Bet. My own fault. I'm back on base-game spins now, relearning the Fishing Mini-Game before I pay for entry again."

"Redeemed the welcome offer at Lucky Dreams, the deposit match plus 88 free spins credited within a minute. My card deposit cleared instantly, and a quick email to support about the wagering requirement got a clear answer inside the hour."

Player verdict

Great winter mechanics, expensive shortcuts

The pre-game fishing phase and booster queue give the sequel its own rhythm. The official demo is clear, the 96.05% configuration is easy to verify and the controls work well on a wide screen. High volatility and two Buy Bonus tiers demand more restraint than the friendly character art suggests. My editorial rating is 4.8/5.

Questions answered from the source record

What RTP does the official demo show?

The current Ice Bass demo displays 96.05%, which replaces the 96.07% figure in the old draft brief.

What starts Hot Mode?

Five Scatter symbols activate Hot Mode in the base game.

Are the screenshots real?

Yes. All seven gallery frames were captured from Belatra's official fishing_winter demo. The vertical hero is decorative and labelled separately.

How many boosters can appear?

The project research records up to nine boosters in the pre-game fishing phase.

Keep the session optional

High volatility can move a balance quickly. Set a cost and time limit before play, never borrow, and do not chase a previous result.
